The recent Thunderstorm of Pi based front ends have been INSANE, and then without warning they release the Pi 3 B + , and all those front ends, and pretty boot screens become useless, that is until they become “Stretch” compatible – which is also “backwards” compatible (i.e. any 3 B+ image can (at the moment) be used on standard 3 B models). David Marti takes the horn by the bulls and drops MOTION BLUE 6 STRETCH B+ Version AND adds a few extra goodies.. Gooooooo David!
This version of Motion Blue v6 is using the Raspian Stretch OS. This way, it’s compatible with the new Raspberry Pi 3 B+ boards. It will still work on current Raspberry Pi 2 and 3 B boards as well. – David Marti
There are two new items here in Motion Blue v6 Stretch B+.
1. Fruitbox Jukebox
Fruitbox has been pre-installed and setup to use /roms/jukebox for MP3 file location. Also included is a new menu item to launch the gamepad/button assignment utility. For more information on Fruitbox, visit the developers Github page.
2. Attract Mode : auto-enable display feature
A new script is setup for Attract Mode (upon bootup) that will scan your ROM folders looking for rom files. If it finds any, it’ll automatically enable that display to show up in the menu. This works in either the traditional menu or the nested menu options. Now, Attract Mode’s displays will automatically show up in similar fashion as Emulation Station does. Just like Emulation Station, the Attract Mode collections displays do not automatically show up. You’ll need to run the Displays Utility to enable those collection displays as needed.
WI-FI NOT WORKING ON YOUR PI 3 B + ?
An odd little “flaw” but on Raspian stretch OS, you must launch raspi-config and set your Country Code in order to get Wifi working.
For set up instructions and to see some of the features check out the original MB6 release video found HERE
