Crash is back with a fantastic, more stable, version of Rott, previously released back in May (2018) . A few tweaks, upgrades and updates since the last version, and proven to be a solid stable base image to add to (remember ROMS ARE ROMS!, so just add your standard roms to it – WDG Rom Pack, Emulga Rom Pack or Arcade Punks WDG Split, will work, plus the many others shared!)
Thanks to the ROTT team: Steven D.; Jyo Ho; Myari; Crash; Chuck P.; Cory T.; Paint Toad; and Ntemis. Without them, we wouldn’t be here. Also a big Thanks to RetroPie for their killer work!
Armbian Stretch 4.4.156
Works on Both Tinker Board and Tinker Board S, and on the eMMc or SD Card
WiFi from retropie menu
Bezel Project installed
Are there Roms?
No. But you can use your pi3b rom pack and gamelists with this image.
Does it have Kodi?
No. Kodi and armbian are currently having issues, but maybe at a later date.
Why pi as a user?
pi user for Pi3b gamelists and pack compatibility.
How do I change the splashscreen?
Rename your splashscreen and replace the one in the splashscreen folder.
How do I change or stop the background music?
Change out your music with MP3’s in the home/pi/RetroPie/roms/music folder via network or winscp, or even disable it in the retropie menu and reboot.
What about controller support?
Built off ROTT 1.0.4b so it “should” have extended controller support.
What emulators can I install?
Most emulators are hit or miss the Retroarch emulators seem to install better than the standalones. Some emulators just don’t install. See what works.
Does Bluetooth work? I was using my PS3 controller via BT other controllers “should” work as well.
No sound, how do I fix?
For the audio fix you’ll need to currently make a change in /usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf setting the defaults.pcm.card 1 to defaults.pcm.card 0
In terminal type:
sudo nano /usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf
defaults.pcm.card to 1
defaults.pcm.card to 0
Save, exit, and reboot.
Sound via 3.5mm jack? Will update once fix is found. Possible fix change defaults.pcm.card to 1 (see above)
What is the screen resolution set to?
I have used it on two different TVs 1080p/720p and a 6.5 in hdmi screen. Sometimes switching back and forth I would have to reboot an extra time to get the screen to “fit”. But it seems to auto size.
What is the user name and password?
Password: tinkerboard – CRASH
