GTA 6 got hit with a pretty big delay last year. Originally planning for a 2025 release, now fans worldwide have to wait until November 19 of this year until they can get their hands on one of gaming’s most anticipated games ever. So, what do we do in the meantime? We hop back into GTA 5!

1.Mansion Raid
Who says an old dog can’t learn new tricks? This is GTA 5’s latest addition to their vast array of modes in which two teams of up to 8 players face off against each other. One on the defense and one in the attack. The mode consists of 3 rounds in which attackers are tasked with attaching 2 bombs in different parts of the titular mansion and defending them from the opposing team until they explode. After the first two rounds, attackers have to enter the basement and steal all the gold from the vault before extracting. Sounds easy? Think again! All the defenders will be outside waiting on you and your team, so good luck. The defenders, on the other hand, just have to basically run out the clock and take out as many attackers as possible.
This mode was extremely well received (partly because at launch it also offered double RP and GTA 5 money) by the community, with many calling it one of the best modes added since launch.
2.Races and Stunts
Racing in GTA has transformed a lot over the years. It went from common street racing to driving inside tubes suspended by nothing in the air as you shoot missiles from your car and nitro your way past first place.
Doesn’t sound so bad, does it? There are plenty of variants too. Some with a navigator that has to call turns to you or some that force you to change vehicles mid-race. It’s fun, but most importantly, it keeps itself fresh by having a lot of variety.
3.Motorcycle Clubs and Street Crews
Starting a motorcycle club gives the game one of its many breaths of fresh air as you suddenly unlock a lot of new mission varieties, like turf wars and smuggling. However, that’s just the technical stuff.
Yes, you migt need to spend some GTA 5 money to get a club and decorate it appropriately. However, it’s worth it when you and your friends are sitting at the table, talking about which mission to do next before all of you roll out on your bikes in formation.
Watching your friends ride and wipe out because they didn’t want to break formation or because that wheelie was a bit above what they could do is always funny!
4.Freemode Funsies
Sometimes you don’t even need a mission to have fun. Sometimes you spawn into the game to what’s already a very developing situation. 2 players shooting at each other with you in the middle, an event happening nearby.
Maybe instead you go to a casino and gamble all your hard-stolen money away. Or, of course, the most fun activity in all of GTA Online, which is blowing up your friend’s expensive car. You pay for their insurance, but it’s so worth it when pulled off at the perfect time.
It really says something about the game itself that, having that many already fun mechanics, there’s also so much fun that you can make yourself in the game.
5.Running Your Business
This is mostly fun to do with your friends. Stocking your businesses like your bunker, nightclub, or the aforementioned motorcycle club can be hard work!
Expect something to go horribly wrong. You might notice a couple of players on the map are getting a little too close, and before you know it, it’s all-out war! This is where the chaotic fun comes in.
It’s equal parts stressful and fun, and very few things can balance those two together.
6.Sports and Minigames
Between all the shootouts and explosions, GTA Online has these surprisingly peaceful pockets.
Golf, darts, tennis, arm wrestling, shooting range challenges-they’re small, low-stakes activities that feel almost out of place in a city built on crime. And that contrast is what makes them great.
Sometimes weekly bonuses even boost GTA$ and RP for these sports, which means you can relax, mess around, and still walk away with progress. Hitting a clean golf shot while jets scream overhead just feels… weirdly perfect.
It’s a reminder that Los Santos isn’t only chaos. It’s also a place to breathe, at least for a minute.
7.Classic Heists
Heists are still some of GTA Online’s strongest content, even years later. If you want planning, prep missions, and cinematic chaos, it’s hard to beat classics like Cayo Perico.
The best part of these heists is that you don’t need to have an incomprehensible amount of money to even start them. You can even do them alone if you want. But the chaotic fun of playing with people, even random people online, is irreplaceable. Someone’s sneaking. Someone’s on lookout. Someone triggers the alarm way too early.
Every run feels a little different. Sometimes it’s flawless. Sometimes it falls apart immediately. Either way, the ride is worth it.
8.Yacht Parties & Social Hangouts
Not every session has to end in gunfire.
Owning a Galaxy Super Yacht gives you a floating social hub-hot tubs, ocean views, and some of the calmest vibes in the game. Invite friends, throw on a robe, crack virtual champagne, and watch the waves roll by.
After hours of missions and mayhem, that quiet moment hits harder than you’d expect. And when you head back into chaos afterward, it somehow feels better for it.
9.Creator Mode Events
Creator Mode is where GTA Online hands you the keys and says, “Good luck.”
You can design your own races, deathmatches, and stunt courses-then unleash them on your friends or the wider community. Ramps where ramps shouldn’t exist. Loops that defy physics. Explosions placed purely for drama.
Testing your own creations with a crew is half the fun. Watching something you built descend into total disaster never really stops being funny.
10.Just Riding Around
Sometimes the best sessions have no objective at all.
