Its been a long while since we seen a PSX Mini (PlayStation Classic) Pack – so when our inbox pinged and Nintendoman got in touch to share this OUTSTANDING pack – just WOW is all we could say when we booted this up.
Not only is this pack complete, simply copy to your correctly formatted USB stick, but it contains multiple themes (sometimes there is a delay when switching) , bezels on the appropriate systems and full artwork for all games, this simply is what can only be described as perfect pack , and without a doubt the best we have seen to date – fact!
The build is a Retroboot build using the latest Autobleem kernel, with Emulation Station – yes this pack looks like you have turned your PSX Mini into a fully fledged Raspberry Pi image – no control configs required, simply pick up the PSX Controller, and play!
HOW TO INSTALL
- First you need to prepare your USB stick to the correct format the PSX Classic will recognise, there is a great guide on REDDIT for that HERE.
- Download the .zip file from our downloads page (link below) via torrent or Usenet, or if you are a member via the members FTP (note if downloading from Usenet you will need to extract a group of .rar files by right clicking the first one and selecting extract all – they will all auto extract – you will need winrar for this).
- Once you have extracted the files, copy over all 3 folders (028c18a9-ec4b-4632-b2cf-d4e20f252e8f, retroarch and roms) to the root of your USB
- Unplug your PSX from the mains
- Pop the USB in the Player 2 controller port on your PSX
- Plug it back in to the mains and switch on – it will autoboot into Emulation Station
- ENJOY AND PLAY!
KODI ON THE PSX CLASSIC – WAIT WHAT??!?
Did you notice the Kodi button on the menu ? Confused (we are!) – we haven’t seen Kodi running on the PSX Classic before (please enlighten us) – when we click into it we see some preset videos, which seem to play, no kodi splashscreens or anything so maybe its just some built in video media player – Either way, there is some good retro content to enjoy!
We cannot wait to see what else Nintendoman brings to the table once again, this is just an absolutely brilliant Pack that everyone needs – blow the dust off the PSX Classic and feel the love once again!
