This little build is perfect for your 32gb micro sd cards, Sergio has mixed the best of Hyperpie, Attractmode and Hyperspin and created this awesome little build. This was submitted by Sergio over on the forums
In short, I grabbed a 128GB image for Raspberry Pi from Arcade Punks as it promised to look like Hyperspin. Wrong mistake, the image had many games. Mostly bad, lots of huge videos, lots of junk and little real content, but his media base was very good and AttractMode already had a good preconfiguration. My intention was to make a beautiful system, using AttractMode’s Hyperspin function, with videos, only the best but functional games, that fit on a 32GB card. From there, I cleaned up games that I considered bad, the respective media of those games, learned how to configure Attract-Mode to receive Hyperspin layouts natively, so downloaded the layouts for each arcade game (less neo-geo). I re-encoded all the videos to make them smaller, checked games that had no media and downloaded, put a lot of games translated to Portuguese from different consoles, tweaked settings, in short, it was hard work done over a year. In these many tests I realised that overclocking was no good an just make the system worse, so I just redivided the ram to give more memory to the video. In the end I reached my goal and the image was 26 GB. Of course Attract-Mode is much harder configure than recalbox, so anyone who uses it will necessarily have a keyboard for the initial settings, but once you learn the basics, it’s easy. I also gave network access to configuration and Attract-Mode folders, so as not to depend on the command line.
Once burned in the microsd card, with the keyboard, select the AttractMode icon, then select the “Raspberry Pi” icon, then select “Advanced Options” and then “Expand Filesystem” so that the image fills the entire memory card. To configure the controls to be used in the AttractMode menu (not in games or emulationstation) press “Tab” and select “Controls” and then configure the ATTRACT MENU ONLY controls. If you want to configure game control then you have to choose the Attract icon and then the “Emulation Station” or “Reset Controllers” icon which will erase all existing control settings. DS must have the controls set manually within the emulation itself. So run any game and hit “m” on the keyboard. Then just configure the controls. Importantly, for those who use the system in “Bartop Arcade”, since buttons are missing, it is possible to use the second control to move the cursor (from the touch screen) and use as extra configuration buttons. Please those who download give feedback on improvements, issues or questions. I left enabled, by default the GPIO for arcade with the mkarcade driver, who wants to disable must enter the Retropie settings, drivers and disable this driver.-Sergio
