Tested with Gun4ir but should work with the others too, running on Batocera v38 and self booting that PC into the Ultimate Light Gun Games machine, here we have the Light Gun Lunatics awesome light gun build! This has has about 370 games cutting across most platforms, including experimental ones like windows. This has been tested on Gun4ir and may work with other guns (v38 does have it’s quirks so please don’t think this is perfect).
From the Author
First and foremost – have a back-up of your batocera build LGL is not liable for this build nor your system and/or any changes you make of it.
We thank the Batocera Dev team and the community which we reference accordingly if you need any guidance on Batocera.
Those links include:
Batocera and the lightgun wiki – https://wiki.batocera.org/emulators:lightgun_games
LGL don’t host files – all these roms/files can be easily sourced via archive.org and google. We pulled the primary contents from here – https://archive.org/details/lightgunsbatocera and added some of our own, including some windows games that we’ll build on.
This Batocera version is built on v38, there is no v37 in this build. We’ve tested all the emulators/roms and to the best of our knowledge they work (got issues with your gun/s – refer to the Batocera Wiki). We have not touched any underpinning emulators – if you wish to do that, refer to the above Batocera wiki for guidance and support. We hope this ‘community starters’ build will be a good foundation to add your own artwork/themes and games. Yes there are duplicates, but we wanted to showcase what is available. We recommend testing the games you like, and then do as you please with ones you don’t. Again, did you back your system up?
##### IF YOU ARE LOOKING AT THE THE ADD-ON PACK – LGL PC Pack 1 – test candidate
This is the initial ‘test PC pack’ for the LGL Batocera v38 and above build. This was tested using Gun4ir AND is part of the main build – we thought we’d provide it separately in case you have your own V38 or above build – again – we arent responsible, we’ve tested it, it works but it is experimental!
The only thing you need to do in theory (again, this is a test candidate) is to unzip this folder and place its entire contents under roms/windows within Batocera (not windows installed).
Once you’ve done that, you run the game settings update and the games should display. We’ve included some basic art/vids, but most should skrape normally or worst case allow you go insert your own.
Once Batocera updates, you’ll note alot of files, just go through very carefully, slowly and patiently and run the games .exe file.
NOTE: On first attempt Batocera will throw a big blue screen like a windows crash, its not crashed, read the words and be patient. Batocera is building out the windows directory requirements on your buil – this can take some time – patience please.
Once it up and running and you can play it, then exit using the games exit menu options. We’d then recommend ‘hiding’ the other non-essential files (dont delete) – did you do that backup?
Over time we’ll slowly add games – if you load some yourself please let Light Gun Lunatics know, everyone should benefit.
Have fun
Light Gun Lunatics.
