AWESOME MX24 / X-ARCADE SHOOTER BUILD FROM BYGDICK

BYGDick is back with this awesome 363gb RetroFE Shooter for the MX24 Arcade Guns / X-Arcade, this insane build showcases not only the talent of the awesome dude himself, but the creativity and works from the community of the Light Gun Lunatics FaceBook group.

Please read the info below, as I will try and explain everything so you can decide if its for you or not. Also, it should answer any questions you may have. Thanks.

 

This is a personal build I put together for my game room. It is a curated collection of several different platforms. The determining factors were popularity, personal favs, and compatibility for the PC I’m using.

 

Total unzipped size is 363GB. Below is a list of the platforms/collections and a description.

MAME – Mame gun games
TeknoParrot – TP gun games
Sega Model 2 – Model 2 gun games
Sega Model 3 – Model 3 gun games
Atomiswave – Atomiswave gun games
Sega Naomi – Naomi gun games
PC Games – PC gun games
Arcade – Mame, TP, Atomiswave, and PC Arcade games
Trackball – Trackball games
Consoles – Console gun games
Pinball FX3 – Pinball games

 

Compatibility:
This was set up and tested for the RetroShooter MX24 guns and the X-Arcade Tank Stick. You can also easily use AimTrack on most without much set up. It is also easy to set the Arcade games to work with other controllers. Also feel free to grab anything in the build to add to your own (roms, emulators, artwork…etc.). There are text docs in the builds Read-Me folder that explains how to set up and change controls. These also show how to add and delete games.

 

PC Requirements:
This will vary per set up. I cant say for sure what will work and what will not per PC specs. Below are my PC specs that this build was tested and run on.
PC- HP EliteDesk 800
Processor- Intel Core i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40Hz 4 cores, 16GB RAM
GPU- NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030

Note: The Walking Dead would only play in Windowed mode and Transformers Shadows Rising would not boot. These games are still in the build as they may work on your PC set up.

 

Add-Ons:
There will not be any add-ons for this build. However, there is info in the Read-Me files that explains how to add or remove games.

 

Note: This does not have Mame Hooker installed or set up. Just simply do not have the time to learn and add.

 

Things you should do:

Make an exclusion to your anti-virus andor Windows defender for the drive you will be extracting to.

Go into the RetroFE1-READ-ME folder and read the text docs to set your gun and controls. Once set up, double click the RetroFE Shortcut (the one with the arrow icon) to open the build and start playing. Enjoy!

 

Gun Set UP:
There are just a few easy set up tasks for your gun to be recognized. Follow the below and you should be good to go.
-RetroFEemulatorsMAMEctrlr go in here and open the gunmouse.cfg file. Enter your guns PID numbers. GUNCODE_4 is Player 1 and GUNCODE_5 is Player 2. Example <mapdevice device=”PID_5750″ controller=”GUNCODE_4″ /> , you would change the 4 digits “5750” to your guns ID. This may not need to be done if your using the MX24 guns.

-RetroFEDemulShooter – Go in here and open the DemulShooter_GUI.exe file. Select your guns from the dropdown menu for P1 and P2 configuration.

-RetroFEemulatorsXbox GunsDemulShooter – Go in here and open the DemulShooter_GUI.exe file. Select your guns from the dropdown menu for P1 and P2 configuration.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD AND PLAY

1. Download (see below!) (HELP)
2. Extract using Winrar (HELP)
3. Setup Games/Emulators as above
4. Run the RetroFE shortcut in the root of your folder
