Hyperspin Attraction update 5 is here and The MotleyKru aren’t holding back with this one – We’ve got a ton of new systems, a bunch of new games and more technical alterations, emulator updates and special gifts that you could shake anything but a joystick at!
Without much surprise, update 5 became another big one. Besides the arrival of the expected handheld systems, some old school systems are also in and there’s another new category to enjoy, pinball systems. As usual, game selections play a big part for us and you will find that a few titles have also extra features already included, being DLC, unlocked settings or extras. It has been like that since base release, hidden in the myriad of things going on in the background. On the technical side, everything got even better and the wall of information text below doesn’t do it justice. Fast, smooth, a pleasure to the eye and ear.
Yaron’s code wizardry and Enkak‘s emulation expertise are at the center, coupled with the great art done by john and alexdc22 and some hard core testing by voltron. A real team effort. Let’s not forget also the community contributions on discord. You will find lots of media being made and shared there by users, including 16:9 themes made/converted by mrfomt, marquees and layouts by PaCiFiKbAllA, smart themes by 3nd and much more!

Technical:
Nintendo DS
– Each game on this console can be different how they use the screens for gameplay. Some use both for all the action, others prefer one or another to be the active screen. Explore and use the view switches on InGame settings on main menu wheel.
– Many games on this system used touch input. You can mimic that using the controller or mouse
Nintendo 3DS
– Custom mouse cursor: Nintendo 3DS games may need to use the touchscreen/stylus for certain actions, so that’s the reason you see a cursor when loading. You can move the cursor somewhere outside the screen when isn’t needed.
– Default launch method uses 7z compressed because it makes a big difference regarding files size. If you want, just uncompress the games included, delete the 7z files after and use instead normal uncompressed files for those or any other titles.
– Explore and use the view switches on InGame settings on main menu wheel. You have 3 different views.
– Many games on this system used touch input. You can mimic that using the controller or mouse
– Citra emulator is still considered in experimental status so issues may occur. You may also need a high spec computer and a good graphic card to run better some of the games
.Pocket Card Jockey
– Do not exit from the game when you are adding your character name, else it will crash
– Touch input is mandatory
– Keyboard recommended for inserting your name but you can press controller keys to write random letters if you don’t care
Future Pinball
!IMPORTANT!
– Before playing Future Pinball
Open emulator folder in: emulators\Future Pinball -> Double click “Future Pinball.reg” file
This ensure that you get optimal settings for desktop use and controls working for Xbox controllers
If the controls aren’t working for your gamepad, open: Future Pinball\BAM\FPLoader.exe -> Preferences -> Game Keys and Controls -> Enable your controller on the right and change keys to mimic the picture provided -> OK
– If you didn’t yet, install Visual-C-Runtimes-All-in-One-
– Future Pinball games can take a little longer to load than other systems. That’s why the fade loading screen can be there longer or seem like it’s frozen. Let it load the game completely in the background until the game appears or, in worst case, an error
– If you get OpenGL errors on launch that is because of your graphic card
Update your drivers or, if you have a dual card system like Optimus, used on laptops for example, you need to force the application to be always opened with main graphic card and not the Intel one
– If you get meditation error when launching a table
Try launching the table a second time. Sometimes the error just goes away like that
If error persists, go to emulators\Future Pinball\BAM
Right mouse click FPLoader.exe -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Compatibility mode -> Windows 8 -> Apply
Still got the error?
Right mouse click FPLoader.exe -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Compatibility mode -> Windows 7 -> Apply
If that doesn’t work, try running it in administration mode one time. Then disable administration mode after. Sometimes this is needed due to OS security measures
Pinball FX3
– To enable launching each table directly from the frontend:
before playing Pinball FX3, copy/move the Steam folder inside:
help_faqs\Technical\- Pinball FX 3
to
%SystemDrive%\users\public\
